{"id":515,"date":"2015-02-23T21:34:15","date_gmt":"2015-02-23T21:34:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amor-bg.com\/?page_id=515"},"modified":"2015-02-25T08:18:35","modified_gmt":"2015-02-25T08:18:35","slug":"great-britain","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amor-bg.com\/en\/programs\/great-britain\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Britain"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Legislation and Central Body<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-296\" src=\"https:\/\/amor-bg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/uk-z.jpg\" alt=\"uk-z\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amor-bg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/uk-z.jpg 540w, https:\/\/amor-bg.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/uk-z-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Great Britain signs The Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Inter-Country Adoption (Hague convention) on 12<sup>th<\/sup> January 1994 ratifies it on 27<sup>th<\/sup> February 2003 and it goes in force on 1<sup>st<\/sup> June 2003<\/p>\n<p>Central bodies under the Convention for Great Britain are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For England \u2013 Department of education<\/li>\n<li>For Wales \u2013 National assembly of Wales<\/li>\n<li>For Scotland \u2013 Scottish Executive<\/li>\n<li>For Northern Ireland \u2013 Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Central body is issuing a <strong>Certificate<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>Eligibility<\/strong> <strong>to<\/strong> <strong>Adopt<\/strong> as well as Certificates under art.17 and art.23 from the Convention.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Approval for adoption<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In order to prepare a Home Study the candidate-adopter must connect with the local body or voluntary adoption agency, which have permit to perform evaluations of candidate-adopters for international adoption. After he\/she is approved for adoption with a positive Home Study, the agency sends the application for examination in the Department of education. After examination of the application the Department is issuing Certificate of Eligibility to Adopt with <strong>2 years term of validity.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Requirements towards the candidate-adopters<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The adopter must have turned 21 years. There is no upper age border.<\/p>\n<p>The candidate can be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Single adopter<\/li>\n<li>Married or in factual cohabitation<\/li>\n<li>In couple relationship from other or the same gender<\/li>\n<li>Partner of the parent of the child.<\/li>\n<li>The candidate may be UK citizen or he\/she or his\/her partner\/husband or wife to have habitual residence in Great Britain, Normand Isles or the Isle of Man.<\/li>\n<li>He\/she or his\/her partner or husband\/wife to reside in UK at least a year before submitting an application for adoption<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Required<\/strong> <strong>documents<\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong> <strong>signing<\/strong> <strong>in<\/strong> <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Register<\/strong> <strong>of<\/strong> <strong>MOJ<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Application to MOJ.<\/li>\n<li>Copy from the identity document.<\/li>\n<li>Notification from the Central body and confirmation that the adoption will be performed in compliance with the legal regulations of UK and Northern Ireland .<\/li>\n<li>Certificate for eligibility and approval.<\/li>\n<li>Home Study.<\/li>\n<li>Certificate stating that the candidate-adopter is not deprived from parental rights and there is a lack of misuse, physical and domestic violence.<\/li>\n<li>Conviction Status Certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Medical certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Psychological evaluation form.<\/li>\n<li>Birth certificate \/ Marriage certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Power of attorney in favor of AMOR.<\/li>\n<li>Contract with AMOR for mediation in international adoption.<\/li>\n<li>Information about the exact amount of fees and expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Declaration for AMOR under art.20, p.10 from Regulation\u2116 2 from 24<sup>th<\/sup> October 2014.<\/li>\n<li>Photos.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>More detailed information about the required documents can be found in section <a href=\"https:\/\/amor-bg.com\/en\/procedure\/necessary-documents\/for-signing-in-the-register\/\">Procedure \u2013 Required documents<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Acknowledgement of the adoption <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The decision for allowing the full adoption of a child with habitual residence in country, party of the Convention by citizens of UK is automatically acknowledged.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Character of the adoption <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The legal consequences from the court decision for allowing the adoption are terminating the parental rights of the biological parents and their transition on to the adopter.<\/p>\n<p>When the adopter is British citizen, the child receives British citizenship automatically. For the entrance and the permanent residence in UK the adopted child does not need a visa.
