Travel to Bulgaria and personal contact

The adopter is obligated to perform 5-day personal contact with the child in term of two months after receiving of the referral. The contact with the child is performed, where the child is placed – specialized institution, foster family or at the place where the social service is provided. During the whole stay in Bulgaria the candidate-adopter is accompanied by AMOR translator and can make a consultation with specialist of the association – psychologist, pediatrician or pedagogue.

By an exception the Bulgarian law allows the possibility to accept referral for adoption of specific child even if the candidate-adopter does not perform the personal contact with the child. This happens only in explicitly regulated by the law cases.

If the candidate-adopter wants to adopt the child referred, he/she must sign and notarize before a notary the required documents for continuation of the procedure.
